An architectural studio based in Paris, WTF/A is the fruit of the collaboration of three complementary personalities. With a shared experience in architectural agencies, Christophe, Gervaise and Julie have chosen to follow their own path together and to define the principles of their architectural designs with great attention.
Being as much architects as consumers, these professionals assert a pragmatic approach to architecture. Functional, spatial and people-oriented elements are placed at the heart of the architectural project and form the basis of their thinking. Thus, the form and aesthetics of a design are not an end in themselves, but rather the unique expression of the architects' point of view on a project, a site or use.
WTF/A's involvement in various projects has demonstrated that economic considerations are the central point around which every architectural project must be built. These considerations become the framework for their objectives and the basis for their thinking.
Deeply involved in each of their projects, the partnership of these architects is an expression of their desire to create together. The mutual respect for the skills of each participant in the project is essential for them, and forms the richness of their profession.
The quiet powerhouse of the trio, Christophe is a graduate of ENSA Belleville. For the past 15 years, this architect has been working on very large public and privately commissioned projects with the Montreal-based firm Archi5prod. From schools to prisons, via traditional Norman houses, his field of expertise is vast and his skills solid. As head of the Normandy branch of the agency, Christophe is committed to developing projects in the region.
A true free spirit, Julie, a graduate of ENSA Paris-Val de Seine, completed her studies in France and abroad. Her thirst for challenge and discovery has led her to collaborate with major Parisian agencies. The diversity of her experiences, sensitivity and curiosity facilitate her connection with others. For more than 8 years, in addition to project development, Julie has been the administrative director of the structure.
Gervaise began her studies in Lyon in the applied arts before going on to study architecture at the ENSA in Clermont-Ferrand. Her background has left her with a special appreciation for the arts and nature. For almost 14 years, this architect was the project manager for numerous projects, from competition to execution. Gervaise is now committed to putting the environment and the well-being of the occupants at the centre of the project.
