Since its establishment in Bordeaux in 1994, the architectural firm Michel Apard has developed an impressive portfolio of architectural solutions in both the public and private spheres. The firm’s commitment to their projects, completed in various regions across France, demands a rigorous work ethic and design approach for each of their creations. The firm’s accomplishments notably include a nautical base in Royan, restoration of the Moulin de Crevant in Thouars, restoration of the Moulin de Prézier in Cognac, tourist accommodations in Val d’Isère and Briançon, award-winning designs for recreational housing in La Grande Motte and for LogiParc, a 27-unit housing complex and 29 individual and semi-collective homes in Poitiers, and 15 homes for Logélia in Angoulême.
Their work focuses not only on the architectural design of buildings but on the interior design and layout as well. The firm has created reception and tasting spaces for numerous wineries, and designed and built show-rooms for the wholesaler and gourmet shop Jamon Jamon in Bordeaux, the restaurant and bar Le Moulin de Crevant, restaurants, bars and reception areas for numerous holiday resorts, and offices and a meeting room for the company Edmond de Rothschild at Château Clarke.
The firm’s area of expertise spans a wide variety of fields, from the restoration and expansion of historical and heritage buildings to the creation of contemporary designs.
The architectural firm Michel Apard, located in the heart of Bordeaux, offers a magical view of one of the iconic squares of the city center, the Place Camille Jullian. The cultural and festive epicenter inspires the firm’s approach through its conviviality, use of natural materials and blend of styles.
The firm’s founder Michel Apard was born in 1963 and received his degree in 1986 from the architecture school UP1 Quai Malaquais. After leading humanitarian projects in Vietnam from 1986 to 1989, he established his architectural firm Michel Apard in Bordeaux in April of 1994. A die-hard film lover, with an appreciation for wine, british cars from the ‘60s, track and field, rugby and squash, the architect infuses his eclecticism into his design approach.
