Geoffrey Desplaces is a state-certified architect (HMNOP) with a degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles and Paris-Malaquais. Registered with the national board of architects, he has been working as an architect since 2012 and in 2015 established his firm Agence GDA located in Saône-et-Loire, between Paris and Fley.
Geoffrey Desplaces rethinks and reinvents the urban and rural environments in order to adapt to various circumstances and current issues, proposing new ways of seeing and imagining architecture and landscapes. Within his architectural firm Agence GDA, he cultivates projects as well as research into contemporary evolutions of rural and metropolitan areas. In 2016, he was selected to build 75 residences in Cornebarrieu, in the Toulouse metropolitan area, proposing a reinterpretation of the model of rural villages of Toulouse.
Geoffrey Desplaces is currently exploring the impact of human activity on territorial transformation in the context of a book he is writing on the Anthropocene Era.
The firm Agence GDA adopts a multidisciplinary approach in order to meet the needs of their diverse projects, which include new buildings as well as renovation or remodeling work for both individual homes and commercial buildings, analysing the advantages of the context and environment, whether built or natural.
