A graduate of the Athénaeum in Lausanne (Switzerland) and the École d'Architecture de Lyon (ENSAL), Ludovic Beau began his career as an associate in various architectural studios in France and Switzerland. First in Lausanne, then in Thonon-les-Bains at Atelier Axe, and finally at Massimo Lopremo and Empeyta & Alberi in Geneva.
His work includes the renovation of luxury flats and boutiques, as well as new builds, villas and industrial buildings.
Ludovic Beau decided to set up his own practice in 2013, gradually taking over from Pascal Girard and returning to one of his first studios.
During his studies at ENSAL, he linked Architecture and Music as a compositional approach and continues to work on this particular duality.
Alongside his activities as an Architect, Ludovic Beau teaches at the Swiss Design Center in Lausanne, where he has been leading the first-year and third-year project workshop since 2016. This architect integrates disciplines such as philosophy and never ceases to question the notion of happiness in architectural design, living with the seasons and nature, and rediscovering a respectful relationship with time!
Ludovic Beau takes a made-to-measure approach to architecture, adapting to his clients' every need with an ecological mindset and a relationship to happiness that transforms the home into a second skin.
Passionate about the arts and crafts in particular, he has also been a blacksmith for almost 8 years, specialising in the creation of Damascus steel knives. During this time, the architect also discovered another way of designing living spaces, working on the themes of transversality and intuitive circulation derived from Japanese tradition, which he is increasingly incorporating into the design of his detached villas. Ludovic Beau is particularly keen on complete assignments and design commissions.
