John Debaize architect, graduated from ISAVH Brussels in 1992, has carried out projects in various agencies, from Brussels to Nantes.

After twenty years of practice in various agencies, the desire for a new way of practicing the architectural profession made him take the plunge. He offers his customers a know-how and experience for the benefit of healthy, sustainable and ecological projects.

The research and reflection linked to the construction of his own passive house in a wooden frame probably led him to this trigger: to manifest and propagate the quality of life linked to this type of habitat.

In new construction or rehabilitation, Tektolab today works on projects at the scale of individual houses, collective or participatory housing and public and private equipment.

Advocating an architecture that is as sustainable as it is economical, Tektolab seeks to minimize the overall footprint of construction and deconstruction, and to optimize the ratio between investment and operating costs through the design of passive buildings.

At a time when shared interest in the environment embraces a very vast field and sometimes covers approaches that are not always easy to define: bioclimatic, sustainable development, ecological... because they are very broad or even dispersed, Tektolab prefers to carry its energy towards passive construction, whose performances are quantifiable.

This objective has a positive impact on the general economy of projects because it requires more rigor, greater production of details, and vigilant care at the stage of execution. Quality costs nothing, but non-compliance with quality is costly.

The architectural writing of the agency is intended to be simple, refined, rational and intuitive: a design that goes to the essential, a sensible and rigorous construction to define coherent and harmonious living spaces.

His current activity is characterized by 100% of projects developed using a strong environmental approach (ecological buildings, highly economical and with low impact on the environment and reasonable renovations). This approach also integrates a human consideration of the project which will be nourished by exchanges between the project owner, user and project manager.
