Benazra Architecte is a small architectural firm founded in 2009 by Santiago Benazra, a certified architect with over 20 years of experience in design, renovation, and project management. Based in the Paris region, he assists his clients with tailor-made projects, ranging from single-family homes to apartment buildings, including the rehabilitation of old buildings and the transformation of interior spaces.
After working at Tangram Architectes, the largest firm in the south of France, Santiago Benazra enriched his architectural approach with international experience. He collaborated with Atelier Nairo in Montevideo, where he worked on projects blending local craftsmanship with modern design, before continuing his adventure in the United States and Bogotá, where he worked alongside architects on private residential and commercial projects for ten years.
Back in France, he worked for several years on the Côte d'Azur—in Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle, and Cavalaire-sur-Mer—where he set up his office in partnership with a construction company. After several varied projects, he returned to the Paris region to settle there permanently.
His architectural vision is distinguished by a contextual and humanistic approach, placing the user at the heart of the design process. Each project is born from attentive listening, a detailed understanding of the site, and constant dialogue with stakeholders, creating architecture that is simultaneously readable, sensitive, and sustainable.
With extensive expertise in urban planning and regulations (PLU, building permits, ERP), Benazra Architecte is involved in every stage of the project: feasibility study, permit application, execution plans, calls for tenders, site monitoring, and construction management through to completion.
Each project is designed as a tailored response to the needs of users and the uniqueness of the site. The firm is committed to a responsible and sustainable approach, favoring bioclimatic solutions, resource optimization, and the use of local or low-impact materials.
Attentiveness, rigor, and creativity guide each stage of the design, with particular attention paid to detail and the quality of the spaces. His approach is collaborative, open and people-oriented.
