Essaim architecte is an architecture studio based in Lyon, founded by HMONP architect Basile Gloor, a graduate of the Paris La Villette school of architecture. Initially employed by various firms, he simultaneously took part in founding Essaim, an association with the aim of creating a mapped directory of bio-sourced and geo-sourced construction companies.
Drawing on his enriching experiences, Basile Gloor discovered a passion for local, sustainable and cost-effective building. He develops architectural projects with these three criteria in mind, devoting his full focus to create minimalist architectural designs.
The studio Essaim architecte continually seeks the right balance between optimising spaces and ensuring a building’s durability. With this priority, the studio develops buildings that are respectful of their environment and well-suited to their usage, without ever losing sight of the client’s wishes and expectations.
Whatever the building’s purpose, Essaim offers architecture projects with respect for existing elements (whether environmental, architectural or cultural) while anticipating future changes.
From the initial studies of a building’s integration into its environment up to construction management, Essaim takes a long term view to architectural projects.
