TRANSFORMATIONS RESILIENTES is available for new projects
Independent HMONP architect Jules NENY is based in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, in the heart of the French Pyrenees. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville in 2020, he founded Transformations Résilientes, an architectural practice dedicated to three core areas of expertise: energy-efficient renovation, sustainable construction, and self-sufficient housing.
His support can begin even before a property is purchased. Whether assessing a renovation project or a building plot, Jules helps clients evaluate the true potential of a site by identifying its technical and regulatory constraints while providing an initial budget estimate, allowing informed decisions before committing to a purchase.
The design phase follows, where Jules works on both extensive renovations—such as converting barns into homes or carrying out comprehensive energy retrofits—and the construction of new bioclimatic buildings using environmentally responsible materials including timber, straw, and earth.
Certified as a Mon Accompagnateur Rénov' (MAR) advisor and trained in energy audits (DYNAMOE 1), he always begins with a detailed feasibility study before recommending the most appropriate solution for each existing building.
Jules NENY also manages the administrative procedures that often discourage homeowners. He prepares and submits planning applications, including building permits and prior declarations, completes the required official documentation, and oversees the entire approval process until planning permission is granted.
During construction, he coordinates the various contractors involved in the project and ensures technical consistency between all building systems—including insulation, ventilation, heating, and airtightness—where the real performance of a renovation is often determined.
His professional practice is rooted in a long-term research project developed during his architectural studies: TMIP (Transformations de la Maison Individuelle Périurbaine). This initiative explores how existing suburban and rural homes can become more resilient and self-sufficient through improved energy performance, water management, and productive gardens, helping homeowners regain greater independence in the face of rising energy costs.
For Jules, a house can never be considered independently from its surroundings. Every project is approached as part of a wider environmental and territorial system, particularly in rural and peri-urban contexts.
He works with homeowners renovating houses, barns, and farm buildings, as well as with condominium associations, particularly on multi-year building maintenance and renovation plans (PPPT).
His professional philosophy can be summed up in one word: honesty. Addressing the real constraints of a project—whether financial, technical, or regulatory—is always preferable to creating unrealistic expectations that will inevitably be challenged later.
Based in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Jules primarily works throughout the surrounding region and is particularly committed to environmentally responsible architecture and projects that promote greater residential autonomy.
Don't hesitate to trust Jules NENY with your next architectural project.
