ATELIER MEGARON is available for new projects
Founded in 2021 by Henri and Cansu Valancogne, Atelier Megaron is an architecture practice committed to designing sustainable, sensitive, and context-driven projects. The agency explores a wide range of issues in the fields of housing, healthcare, tertiary buildings, and public facilities, working on both new constructions and projects involving renovation, extension, or vertical additions.
The firm pays particular attention to rural territories and small towns, often rich in underestimated potential. Atelier Megaron sees their revitalization as an essential lever to address environmental challenges, but also as a response to deep social aspirations—for connection, proximity, and meaning.
As part of a process of continuous improvement, Atelier Megaron regularly trains in low-impact construction techniques such as rammed earth, straw bale construction (Pro-Paille certification), wood, and eco-renovation. This expertise allows the agency to provide responsible solutions tailored both to client expectations and to the imperatives of living systems.
Its approach places users at the heart of the design process. The practice implements participatory methods to ensure project acceptance and to respond accurately to user needs. It also strives to go beyond expressed expectations, revealing hidden potential and delivering sensitive, functional, and inspired solutions.
The agency builds on the complementary expertise of its two partners:
Henri Valancogne, engineer-architect educated in Nantes, Milan, and Paris, worked for nearly five years at Dominique Perrault Architecture, a world-renowned firm. This experience gave him solid expertise in managing complex projects, both in new builds and major transformations, on large-scale programs such as the Grand Paris Express Villejuif IGR station, the rehabilitation of the Pascal Towers at La Défense, the conversion of a Paris hospital building into a health school and offices, and the extension of the Alpix factory in Le Cellier.
Cansu Valancogne, architect with an international background (Istanbul, Milan, London, Paris, Bordeaux), has worked on a wide variety of projects within major French firms such as Atelier Zundel et Cristea and Posto 29.
Atelier Megaron is a registered architectural practice, holds decennial liability insurance, and is certified as Mon Accompagnateur Rénov’ and Energy Auditor for individual houses. The studio works with private clients as well as public or private contracting authorities, covering projects from feasibility studies to construction supervision. Its dual expertise in engineering and architecture guarantees rigorous oversight and strong technical control of every project.
