EI GABRIELLE DOUBLET is available for new projects

Trained in Paris at the Paris Val de Seine School of Architecture, initially near the Fine Arts district and later in the Masséna area in a contemporary building, Gabrielle DOUBLET has developed an approach that creates a dialogue between traditional architecture and contemporary responses in her architectural designs.

Passionate about renovation, she developed a strong interest in traditional construction techniques while working on heritage restoration projects in France—on former fortresses and medieval abbeys—as well as in Morocco, where she contributed to the restoration of a Quranic school.

Her graduation project focused on the creation of a theatre and a dance school, allowing her to gain experience with large-scale public buildings and workspaces.

Her professional career has led her to work alongside heritage architects, contributing to projects such as the renovation of a barn into a multi-purpose hall and the contemporary extension of a school.

Several roles have enabled her to build expertise in public-access architecture, addressing challenges such as:

• renovation of existing buildings,
• accessibility regulations for people with reduced mobility,
• boarding schools for vocational training,
• amusement parks,
• hotels,
• restaurants,

Since settling in the Allier region in 2018, Gabrielle DOUBLET has strengthened her commitment to ecological renovation as a way to restore and enhance existing buildings, often abandoned or poorly maintained. Through her independent practice, she has deepened her knowledge of techniques and requirements related to preserving historic structures, emphasizing the importance of using natural and bio-based materials for the well-being of occupants and the durability of restorations.

Within an ecological approach, the issue of reuse is regularly addressed on construction sites, considering whether to preserve or replace existing elements. She also focuses on enhancing removed elements through reuse or recycling of materials.

She is able to respond to a wide range of projects, whether in renovation or for public, associative, or private spaces, such as:

• community cafés in village houses,
• pastry laboratories,
• townhouses,
• traditional Bourbonnais longhouses,
• and barns.

She also undertakes new construction projects, including:

• creation of repair workshops or market gardening facilities,
• ecological extensions and vertical expansions of homes.
