ARCHITECTE is available for new projects
Jean-François GEORGEL is a DPLG-certified architect, graduated from the Nancy School of Architecture in 1990.
He has been working in the Lorraine region—particularly in the Vosges Mountains—for over 30 years.
His deep passion for the mountains, their landscapes, valleys, and communities led him early on to actively engage in the evolution of rural areas and to develop a thorough understanding of vernacular architecture.
Since the beginning of the decade, changes in Local Urban Planning Regulations have sought to align with the Climate and Resilience Act, which mandates net zero land take. In this evolving context, and within a region experiencing demographic decline, renovation has taken on a renewed meaning—one that must be supported by a broad and in-depth understanding of the act of building.
To renovate is to build. It is also to invite contemporary living into existing structures, embedding modern lifestyles within a long architectural history.
Achieving a successful renovation project requires an understanding of:
Jean-François GEORGEL supports private individuals and local authorities alike, whether renovating a farmhouse, restoring a church, or maintaining a public washhouse. He also designs modern, functional, and light-filled extensions that engage in a deliberate contrast with existing buildings, adding a living layer to a regenerated architectural organism.
His vocation? To help you breathe new life into your building without altering its identity, while adapting it to contemporary ways of living.
Each project is developed through attentive listening to your aspirations, budget, and site constraints.
Project progress is structured through successive phases:
He favors the use of eco-friendly materials and, in certain cases, the reuse of existing materials.
Heritage Foundation certification is pursued when appropriate.
Local craftsmen are given priority for their ability to collaborate efficiently within defined timelines.
The ultimate goal of renovation is not to freeze a building in its original state, but to guide it gracefully toward a new, sustainable, and desirable chapter of life.
