CAROLINE LAFFAY is available for new projects

Caroline Laffay, State-Qualified Architect (Architecte DE-HMONP) and Heritage Architect, has been based in Metz, Moselle, since 2022.

Working throughout the Grand Est region, she puts her expertise in existing and historic buildings at the service of both public and private clients. Her work covers building assessments, heritage feasibility studies, architectural project management for historic monuments, as well as major renovation and restructuring projects.

A graduate of the Marseille School of Architecture for more than ten years, Caroline subsequently specialized through an advanced postgraduate program at the École de Chaillot, enabling her to work on all types of historic monuments and, more broadly, to address the specific challenges of historic buildings. Her approach focuses on preserving, enhancing and passing on built heritage while adapting it to contemporary uses.

Her experience in various architectural practices in Lyon and Paris, working on both new-build and historic projects, has allowed her to develop strong expertise in bringing buildings up to current standards, managing complex public-access building (ERP) programs, and exploring both individual and collective housing.

Her broader interests, particularly building archaeology, which she practices as a volunteer on numerous projects in France and abroad, strongly influence her architectural approach. This is reflected in her interest in traditional construction techniques and bio-based materials.

She works on projects at different scales, from architecture to urban planning and landscape design, adapting her expertise to the specific context and challenges of each project.
