5°Est Architecture is available for new projects
5°Est Architecture is an architectural practice based in Verdun, founded by Chloé Poujol, specialising in the rehabilitation, renovation and transformation of existing buildings. The practice works with private clients, local authorities and professionals looking to transform a building while preserving the qualities and identity that make it unique.
Every building tells a story. The practice’s aim is to continue that story through contemporary, understated and sustainable architecture that responds to today’s lifestyles while respecting the qualities of each place. Projects are developed through a personalised approach, taking into account the needs, aspirations and way of life of their occupants. This approach begins with a careful understanding of the existing building, its materials, volumes, natural light and traditional craftsmanship, in order to create thoughtful interventions where each transformation finds its natural place.
After more than ten years dedicated to the restoration and rehabilitation of heritage buildings, Chloé Poujol now brings this expertise to a wide range of projects, including the renovation of historic houses, extensions, restructurings, changes of use and the enhancement of character properties. This experience has developed a particularly attentive eye for construction quality, architectural details and the long-term durability of design choices. It is equally valuable for everyday projects, helping to reveal the often-unexpected potential of existing buildings.
The practice supports its clients throughout every stage of their project, from the initial ideas through to completion: feasibility studies, architectural design, planning and administrative procedures, contractor selection and site supervision. Particular importance is placed on dialogue with the client, in order to understand their expectations, constraints and priorities. This relationship of trust makes it possible to develop bespoke projects that balance architectural quality, budget control and technical feasibility.
Environmental considerations also play a central role in the practice’s approach. Renovating rather than demolishing, selecting appropriate materials, improving thermal comfort and sustainably reducing a building’s energy consumption are all principles that guide each project. The aim is to create spaces that are more comfortable, more energy-efficient and built to stand the test of time, without compromising their identity.
Through 5°Est Architecture, Chloé Poujol brings her expertise to an architecture that is both thoughtful and demanding — architecture designed to last, respectful of its context, its history and the people who inhabit it.
