GM Architecte is based in Yssingeaux (Haute-Loire – 43) and is currently developing its presence in the Decize area (Nièvre – 58).
Mathieu GAUTHIER, the company's director, draws on 20 years of professional experience. He designs understated, bright, sustainable and functional spaces, tailored to each client's lifestyle and way of living. Every project emerges from a dialogue between the place, its uses and the people who will inhabit it.
For him, the architect is a creator of balance — between dreams and rigour, between art and science, and between the intimate and the collective.
Mathieu GAUTHIER takes the time to observe and understand his clients' needs and aspirations, while paying close attention to the site's natural light, views, prevailing winds and other constraints. He then brings these elements together to create a tangible sense of harmony. Of course, the project's financial budget is also a decisive factor in guiding design choices, including the location and orientation of the building, structural system, materials, floor area and more.
Aware of the environmental challenges facing the building industry, he regularly expands his knowledge of topics such as material reuse, thermal regulations, renewable energy, low-carbon construction methods and bio-based materials. For him, however, an architecture based on “common sense” is always the first step towards a more responsible approach.
GM Architecte places great importance on working with local craftsmen, as well as on the quality of the materials selected and the care taken in their implementation.
