Arthur Montessuit, Architect – Cluses, Haute-Savoie

An EPFL-trained architect, I work independently from my studio in Cluses and across the Haute-Savoie region, including the Arve Valley, Faucigny, Genevois, Annecy area, Chablais and Gavot Plateau. Being locally based allows me to be genuinely present on construction sites and to work closely with a network of contractors, craftsmen and engineering consultancies I know and trust.

A single point of contact

You deal with the same person from the initial meeting through to the final completion and resolution of any outstanding issues. No project is passed from one person to another, and no decisions are made without you: I personally oversee the design, administrative procedures and site supervision.

Architecture rooted in its surroundings

I advocate a rational and contextual approach to architecture: well-balanced volumes, restrained materials, integration into the landscape and respect for local craftsmanship. Every project begins with a careful analysis of the site, the brief and the actual budget. I favour flexible spaces that can adapt to changing lifestyles, as well as sustainable construction choices that prioritise the preservation and enhancement of existing buildings rather than systematic demolition.

My services

I can oversee all or part of the process, depending on your needs:

• Existing-condition surveys and 3D modelling

• Feasibility studies, local planning regulations (PLU) and regulatory constraints analysis

• Concept design, preliminary design and detailed design

• Planning applications: building permits, prior declarations, demolition permits and amended permits

• Contractor tendering (DCE, CCTP) and assistance with contract procurement

• Construction supervision, site management and budget control

• Assistance with project handover and follow-up of outstanding works

Your projects

New-build homes, extensions, upward extensions, complete renovations, barn or chalet conversions, office or retail fit-outs: every project receives the same level of care, regardless of its size. I work on both new-build and existing properties, in urban areas as well as in mountain environments.
