FANUM ARCHITECTURE is available for new projects

Both graduates of the Bordeaux School of Architecture and Landscape (ENSAPBX), Margaux Croixmarie and Morgan Baufils joined forces after several years of practice and numerous collaborations. This partnership is based on a shared vision of architecture and the practice of architecture, as well as the complementary nature of their skills. Their backgrounds reflect their passion for what they do, as well as the diversity of topics that inspire them. However, one central issue underpins their approach to projects. Contribution to the community, in the various forms this notion can take, is the driving force behind their designs.

For their respective degrees, they both chose deeply institutional topics: Justice for one, Collective Memory and Civil Status for the other. The "Necropolis - Spatial Future of Past Lives" degree was awarded the Meyer-Levy Prize by the Academy of Architecture.

Through their early careers in renowned agencies, they gained experience in various types of projects: multi-family housing and commercial buildings for one, public facilities and the renovation/extension of individual housing for the other. They aim to perpetuate this diversity of projects in their (new) practice (which they are founding together), not seeking to confine themselves to a single specialty, but to take advantage of the renewal provided by working on a variety of subjects.

After experience in Bordeaux, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, the agency naturally found its home in Marans; Morgan Baufils is originally from the surrounding area. The two partners wanted to establish themselves in an inspiring area, combining the beauty of the landscapes, the need for infrastructure, and the potential of the built heritage to be renovated. They are committed to being part of the local area, while remaining flexible for project opportunities further afield.

The symbol, the story and the meaning that architecture carries are fundamental in their reflection and design of the architectural project.

Together, they seek to enrich the reality of the profession with theoretical and conceptual practice, and vice versa. They do not conceive of the project as limited to a pragmatic reality, just as they cannot consider the project as a pure concept. Balancing the duality of this paradigm is at the heart of everything they undertake.
